Can This Even Be Called Music?
Can This Even Be Called Music? thumbnail
Can This Even Be Called Music? Belio’s work is unique precisely in the assemblage of styles most composers, even those privy to experimentation, would not associate with each other. And even in the moments in which his music might be similar to that of others, there are always undeniable, obvious markers of his individuality. Favorite track: Impostors.

Marcel Lucas I love how this guy can seamlessly, fluidly progress from cool jazz to full on djent fury in 5 minutes time! Listen to Premices/Culminance/Destination.

This deserves to be in many more collections!

Away, from this common state of hope Stop dreaming, wake up and see, What you could be, now… Away, from this poor duplication. Consider, a new way of creation By imitation Away, from this common state of hope Stop dreaming, wake up and see, Away, from this poor duplication. Consider, a new way of creation By imitation « We dont stand up » As easy as it may seem, we're all but a copy. Where are your pride and dignity ? See you're not alone, feeling so sorrow! What about tomorrow? Dont stand in my shadow ! And I will gladly teach you how to be me Away, from this common state of hope Stop dreaming, wake up and see, Away, from this poor duplication. Consider, a new way of creation By imitation Now you are all alone, Pretending something you will never be Now be gone cause i'm the god that you will never be Now be gone cause you're a slave and just a wannabe, No, you're wrong, I will be the end of you

Innocence is lost, You stole every powers You believe in Nothing While everything conforts your Misconception, illusionary universe Arrogance defines your mind And I’m still the forsaken… Innocence is lost I waste a long battle War and crimes are now my design Since your art has Evolved, in a way, I can’t control I was the first creator You will be the last, one. You don’t create I create You don’t create I created you. Unilateral illusions, interest come first in line Science, religion, everything is polluted I gave you the chance to join, But you stayed. Experiment. more and more years after I can’t follow The machine has become an invisible shadow I created a beast, I can’t destroy Ingenuity, is surpassing everyone. Cultes érigés, temples bâtis, Guerres et croisades, meutres d’impis Rien n’arrêtait ma prise de contrôle Avant que tu ne commence à chanter, peindre, sculpter, créer, recommencer Pour me défier. You don't create. I created you. I created you. Imitation is way beyond my control Impostors are the true creators.

Hello again :)

This time it's a full length... and it's pretty long.
Finally I think I've achieved my goal with this album.
The idea was to put everything I love in it. Could be styles, bands, chords or any specifics details, whatever...
You can see this album as a melting pot, tributing my favorites artist around the world.
Don't be surprised if you listen something familiar, it might be because I took it from someone else (or even from me haha), re-arranged, re-recorded, and then reproduced it in my own way.
That's the concept here, Imitation as a fundamental learning/writing method.

Anyway, like the previous release, this one is eclectic, even in the production ! Every tracks are different and have their own ambiances, vibes and sounds... And they still flow well together !
There are a lot of vst, but also a lot more live instruments ! Which is pretty new in my music !

Well... Thanks for listening and/or thank you for buying, ENJOY !!

To all the participants, guests and/or friends, that did a fantastic job.
Alexander Vonhof, Brandon Morris, Brendon Williams, Pierre Danel, Max Michel, Benjamin Vidal (baltringue), Igor Omodei, I sincerely hope to work again with you in the future.

Thanks to my girlfriend and family who supported me during the whole process.

Thanks to all the bands and musicians that literally let me stole their music without knowing it, they appear in every tracks in a way that I would call "my humble tribute and thanks to them".
Thanks to :
Tigran Hamasyan, Hiromi Uehara, Gilad Hekselman, Daniel Mille, Ede Wright, e.s.t (Esbjörn Svensson Trio), Tchaïkovski, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Alexandre Astier, Danny Elfman, TOE, Queen, CHON, David Maxim Micic, Plini, Ever Forthright, Devin Townsend, A Sense of Gravity, TesseracT, Chimp Spanner, Periphery, Uneven Structure, Animals as Leaders (especially Matt Garstka), Monuments, Vildhjarta, Humanity Last Breath, Meshuggah, for being what they are to me, the greatest sources of inspiration.
